Climate Justice Training – Malmö

Climate Justice Program welcomes you to our last training in Malmö before Ende Gelände in May – a space for anybody who wants to articulate and develop your own engagement for climate justice. No previous experience is necessary, although all experience levels are very welcome!

This May there is a global wave of actions targeting the infrastructure that was made obsolete by the Paris agreement. http://breakfree2016.org/

Our closest action will be in Lusatia, near Berlin, Germany – where Europe’s biggest coal mine is owned by Vattenfall. Sweden is trying to sell off the coal assets, which would be the biggest ever sale of coal in Europe. Keeping this coal in the g…round is the greatest opportunity for Sweden to contribute to the fight against climate change.

For the Swedish environmental movement, for us as human beings: This is the big one.

This May, we will take action in and around this coal mine. There will be legally authorized demonstration and a huge act of peaceful civil disobedience. This action will be called “Ende Gelände” which roughly translates to “Here and no further”.

This training will give you the essential skills and knowledge you need to participate in mass actions like Ende Gelände. Also, together we will explore our motivations, creativity and abilities to make the climate justice movement as powerful as possible, especially for the momentum in Sweden.

The training begins at 10:00 on and ends at the latest 18:00 both days!

On Sunday, shit gets real. We will spend the day making some fun and playful tools for action and give them a try!
